Day 2, Waking Up, Breathing

Today I woke up with a very clear mind. Nothing was bothering me but I felt just a general sense of anxiety, like most days sadly. The sky was clear outside and it was warm so I grabbed my yoga mat and a towel and did some morning yoga before meditating. It felt so good to breathe and stretch. After yoga I sat down and started Day 2 of the Waking Up Introductory Course. Sam Harris guided me through another breathing meditation with emphasis on noticing your thoughts, but not trying to stop them. He stressed the importance of separating yourself from your thoughts and observing them. I noticed I had a lot of anxiety surrounding the work I had to do after meditating, but Harris said to count your breaths and it helped a lot. I’m looking forward to Day 3 tomorrow and the meditation journey Harris is going to take me on.
